Free Admission - No Reservations
First Come First Serve - Subject to capacity
January 6, 1935, Glaum announced in the Los Angeles Times the opening of the Louise Glaum Little Theatre of Union Square, the current home of the Velaslavasay Panorama. On the night of Dia de los Muertos we honor silent film star Louise Glaum by presenting an invocation & enlivening of the femme fatale's spirit. Please join Memento Memoria for a ceremonial experience including moving shadows, video projection, and recitation. At 8:30 PM, we will serve Remembrance Cakes and Confections in the Velaslavasay Gardens and witness live song by Argenta Walther, everything vibrating with the memories of the Louise Glaum Little Theater of Union Square.

This event occurs during the 24th Street Theatre Dia de los Muertos Street Festival including crafts, live music, altar making, face painting and food vendors. Please note 24th street will be closed to cars and parking will be limited.
Things hold energy from the touch of the person that held them close. Memento Memoria, a project of Jordan Biren & Ursula Brookbank, is a performance of light and shadow with music and recitation that quickens the things of people's past with the breath of their spirit - at any memorial or remembrance gathering.
