Alas! After being revived following a 130-year slumber, this weekend brings the final performances of The Grand Moving Mirror of California, a moving panorama presentation for the stage! Join us in celebrating this singular run of shows in which California and art history, dramatic adventure narrative and old-fashioned showmanship combine to create an unforgettable panorama experience. There will be a garden reception after each performance, with a variety of thematic refreshements on offer and related souvenir items for sale.

Grand Moving Panorama of California is a two-hundred-and-seventy-foot-long painted landscape, depicting the early history of California and referencing elements of the landscape and culture as it exists today. Complete with live Foley effects, piano accompaniment and spoken narration, the voyage entails navigating the rough seas at Cape Horn, visiting early versions of today's California cities and famous natural treasures, and seeing the people, landscapes and ports-of-call the original '49ers encountered on their journey to find their fortunes. Don't miss this last chance to experience a wonderful entertainment the likes of which have not been seen since the 19th century!

The Golden Land
Oh, land of gold, you did me deceive,
And I intend in thee my bones to leave;
So farewell, home, now my friends grow cold,

I'm a lousy miner,
I'm a lousy miner in search of shining gold.
