The Minnow Show is a film & art series aimed at educating and entertaining kids & adults about film animation, projection and material application. Each event will include a screening of an animated film that is renown and rarely screened in LA theaters, showcasing underrepresented filmmakers from around the world such as Alê Abreu, who created the Brazilian psychedelic film about family, Boy & The World (watch the trailer!). Abreu spent three years animating the film himself and tells the story through the eyes of a boy with visual experimentation and exploration instead of words.

After the LA premiere of the film, Armory Artist-in-Residence Anna Tanner will lead a workshop in the garden on making myriorama cards - a 19th Century parlour game of rearranging landscapes, reminiscent of a filmstrip.

The Chicago-based Department of Curiosities will display their collection of lush Italian silk lingerie and nightwear inspired by the luminous women of the 1920s-40s. The day begins with a trunk show, wherein Department of Curiosities couturières will be available to fit you in their exquisite wares, while Miss Tosh, the Starlet of Burlesque, will circulate the grounds of the Panorama evoking American Burlesque of long since past.

Saturday, April 1st, 2017  - 8 P.M. to 10 P.M.
Tickets Available Online
$18 General / $15 VPES Members
**Advanced Ticket Purchase Strongly Suggested**

In the evening we present a ticketed show of Miss Tosh, the Starlet of Burlesque, who will perform two of her renowned Burlesque acts on the Panorama stage. The first act brings to life the dark tropical lingerie of the Department of Curiosities collection, as we watch Miss Tosh try on different pieces according to their identities: the Starlet, the Vamp, the Noir Temptress. For the second act, Miss Tosh will perform her iconic fan dance, influenced, as is the Department of Curiosities line, by the luminous women of the 1920s-40s, such as the magnificent Sally Rand. Post-performance, Miss Tosh will entice attendees to the garden for a tea reception, with time for guests to peruse the Department of Curiosities collection and to spend time with Miss Tosh in a more intimate manner.
