Join us in welcoming filmmaker Richard Myers to The Velaslavasay Panorama for a special screening and  rare in-person appearance. We will be screening two remarkable films, The Path (1961, b/w, 16mm, silent, 20min.) and 37-73 (1974, b/w, 16mm, sound, 60min.) on the silver screen.

Although Richard Myers (b. 1937) is the author of some engaged political works and a series of sensitive and unusual film portraits, he is perhaps most known for his remarkable dream-logic narrative films, such as Akran (1969), Monstershow (1996), as well as tonight’s two featured films. These works evocatively display Myers’ intensely intuitive, subtle grasp of the nuances and mysteries of our individual and collective dream lives.

Curated by Mark Toscano of the Academy Film Archive, this show is the second in a trio of in-person screenings with Mr. Myers and featuring a comprehensive selection of his work, the first being Friday, June 25 at NewTown in Pasadena, and the third on Sunday, June 27 at Filmforum at The Egyptian Theater.
