Opening Weekend for "Shengjing Panorama"

The VP Resumes Regular Open Hours Starting Friday, June 7th, Saturday, June 8th & Sunday, June 9th

The Velaslavasay Panorama will celebrate the official re-opening of the museum with a weekend of festivities.

Starting Friday, June 7th, the Panorama will be open Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays, 11 A.M. to 5 P.M. all year long with a suggested contribution of $7 General and $5 Student/Senior.

 

Friday, June 7th

11:00 AM - Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the West Adams Heritage Association and other community members.

Saturday, June 8th

1:00pm - 5:00pm - Tintype Demonstrations with Magnolia Tintypes

Sunday. June 9th

11:00am - 2:00pm Plein Air Painting Workshop & Demonstration with Roofless Painters

Ambient open-air painting in the gardens of the Velaslavasay Panorama.  To register for the full workshop experience with the Roofless Painters, visit their sign up link here. Passers by will also have an opportunity to observe and participate for shorter periods of time.

 

MAGNOLIA TINTYPE CO.

Forest Casey of Magnolia Tintype Co. will demonstrate a photographic process from the 1850s, developing singular instances of images on aluminum that will last for 300 years.

Roofless Painters is a nomadic painting atelier based in Los Angeles providing art education and exhibit opportunities to artists of any level of experience, training, or representation. Their moving art studio turns up in art-friendly local venues, historical landmarks, and outdoor natural environments, providing all the physical tools and emotional encouragement needed to engage in a supportive and inspirational painting process.
