One year ago in 2019, Shengjing Panorama 《盛京全景图》made its worldwide debut at the Velaslavasay Panorama.

With great joy, we welcomed master painters 李武 Li Wu, 晏阳 Yan Yang, and 周福先 Zhou Fuxian for their inaugural visit to Los Angeles, to join in celebration for the first ever US><China collaborative panorama.

Though our museum exhibits and garden are currently in a state of hibernation due to the Los Angeles County quarantine,  we look forward to welcoming visitors in the future to experience a vision of the city of Shenyang, China in the era 1910-1930 through Shengjing Panorama's immersive cityscape.

It is with great sadness we announce that on May 4, 2020, beloved Professor and Artist Li Wu left us from the physical world and passed away due to complications from a lengthy ongoing illness.

A leading practitioner of contemporary panoramas and large-scale oil painting throughout China, for 35 years Professor Li Wu taught at the Luxun Academy of Fine Art in Shenyang working with students while creating award-winning paintings and dozens of museum installations. Li Wu worked on massive 360-paintings throughout china including The Battle of Chibi, The Battle of Huai Hai and Splendid Central Plains - the largest painting in the world, currently installed in the Fu TV Tower in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China. Travelling throughout China to work on commissioned installations, Li Wu was a true pioneer of the early 21st Century wave of panoramas.

Through Professor Li Wu's focused dedication in collaboration with the Velaslavasay Panorama, Shengjing Panorama was created and brought to Los Angeles as the first ever US><China collaborative panorama. Li Wu was a member of the International Panorama Council and had his work presented at conferences around the world.

Professor Li Wu will be remebered for his committment to hard work, his selflessness, perseverance, optimism, his courageous spirit, and dedicated friendship. His artwork will continue to inspire us and he will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Professor Li Wu. 李武老师安息.
