Ursula Brookbank gives a performance, informal lecture and hands-on workshop using an overhead projector to create illusive, transitive portrayals of humble objects. Brookbank shows selections from previous work and select participants are invited to perform their own shadow sequence. Arrive early to secure your spot on the workshop list!

The performance is a live adaptation of a new permanent installation by Ursula Brookbank and the Velaslavasay Panorama, The Wheary Peepers — the premier luggage choice for stars of stagehand, a wardrobe trunk that fits under a Pullman seat and carries an exhibition of travelore.

Explore the museum, gardens and grounds, watch the performance/workshop and view new paintings by artists Guan Rong and Pa,Sacio Davinci, made as part of The Future Is A Well-Traveled Track, a kinetic-autonomous initiative of the Velaslavasay Panorama.

The Future Is A Well-Traveled Track is funded in part by the Velaslavasay Panorama Enthusiast Society and grants from Mike Kelley Foundation for the Arts, Los Angeles Breakfast Club Foundation, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Department of Arts and Culture, City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, California Arts Council and the LA County Department of Arts and Culture as part of Creative Recovery LA, an initiative funded by the American Rescue Plan.
