WELCOME THE LUNAR NEW YEAR

- 2024 -

The Moon-moth was perhaps the more striking in shape—its front wings were so curved
as to be almost hooked and the hind wings had long swallow tails of delicate pink and yellow.
The genereal colour was a pale green, emerald in hue but milky, with borderings and eye-markings
of a slightly intenser yellow and artificial-looking pink...The flight might be swift, but
it must always have in it something of the glide or the flutter.

The Future is a Well-Traveled Track: Wheary Peepers Trunk Show

The Velaslavasay Panorama presents Wheary Peepers Trunk Show — a live performance by Ursula Brookbank of light, shadow and projection on a deconstructed, modern invention for an automated moving panorama. Guests will be invited to explore the museum, gardens and grounds, watch the performance and view new paintings by artists Guan Rong and Pa,Sacio Davinci, made as part of The Future Is A Well-Traveled Track, a kinetic-autonomous initiative of the Velaslavasay Panorama.

The performance is a live adaptation of a new permanent installation, The Wheary Peepers — the premier luggage choice for stars of stageland! A wardrobe trunk that fits under a pullman seat and carries an exhibition of exquisite travelore.

 

 

The Future Is A Well-Traveled Track is funded in part by the Velaslavasay Panorama Enthusiast Society and grants from Mike Kelley Foundation for the Arts, Los Angeles Breakfast Club Foundation, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Department of Arts and Culture, California Arts Council and the LA County Department of Arts and Culture as part of Creative Recovery LA, an initiative funded by the American Rescue Plan.
